Bettye Jo Harris is a nine-time Deputy from the Diocese of Hawaii, serving from 1982 to 2006. In addition to serving on Executive Council and many committees at the national level, Ms. Harris has been a member of the Diocesan Council in the Diocese of Hawaii, and has been member of the board of a wide variety of organizations focusing on public health, peace and justice, and civil rights. She has received multiple awards for her service to her community, including the NAACP Distinguished Service Award for Lifetime Achievement.
