Our Mission

The Archives is commissioned by General Convention to support and renew The Episcopal Church’s historical mission and institutional memory. It brings knowledge of the past and archival resources into Church and public forums to inform institutional conversation and give meaning to Episcopal and Anglican identity.

By supporting reflection, the Archives strengthens governance and the underlying foundations for mission and ministry. The Archives seeks to honor the community’s diversity, educate all members for ministry, and communicate the faith within the mission priorities as established by the Church’s General Convention.

Authority

The Archives is authorized by the General Convention and is administered by the Board of the Archives as provided by Canon Title I.5.
