Photocopying Policy
The Archives provides copies for personal research use only.
Photocopies may not be distributed to other researchers or placed in
another repository without permission. Purchase of photocopies does not
constitute the sale of rights to the information contained in them. The
Archives retains full rights to all reproductions under its ownership.
The Archives cannot honor requests to copy complete files or large
parts of a records series. Fragile paper records, particularly brittle
bound volumes, may not be photocopied. Photocopying Fees
The rate for photocopying begins at $5.00 minimum per order for
postage, handling, and the first 10 pages of original material. Additional pages are 25 cents per page. There is no minimum charge for photocopy orders
processed on site. Orders returned by facsimile are charged a $5.00
transmission fee.
Photographic Reproduction Services
The Archives will supply photographic prints upon request. Copies
will be made for personal use, historical research, and scholarly and
trade publications. Fees paid for photo reproduction do not constitute
sale of the image or license to distribute. Royalty payments for one
time use of images are limited to the stated purpose of the intended
use. The Archives retains full rights to all reproductions. The cost of
reproduction for personal use is $35 per print for a 5x7 print. For
prints larger than 5x7 and for reproduction in formats other than the
standard black and white print, charges will be calculated upon receipt
of an estimate. Royalties and Publication Rights
The Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Protestant
Episcopal Church in the United States of America is the sole copyright
owner of manuscript items held in title by the Archives. Reproduction
for publication of photographic images and textual records is subject
to a royalty payment. Single item photographs, documents and other
images are assessed a royalty fee of $75 per document or image for
trade, and $45 per document or image for nonprofit use. (The royalty
fee is in addition to the cost of photographic reproduction as
described above.) Written permission to publish from print or non-print
works of the Society is required. Permission is not required and no
fees are associated with the fair use reproduction of brief excerpts
and quotations. Notification of such use of the archives is a courtesy,
however, which is appreciated. Credit should be made as follows: Courtesy of The Archives of the Episcopal Church.
