About the Archives

Mission and Vision Statement

The Archives of the Episcopal Church serves as a steward of church history.  By gathering, preserving, and sharing the diverse voices that connect our faith, we seek to inspire innovation in today’s ministries.

Authority

The Archives of the Episcopal Church is a canonical agency of the General Convention and a wholly owned entity of the corporate parent body, the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States.  The Archives’ mandate and the work entrusted to the Archives are defined by the Church’s Canon laws under Canon I.5.
