Resolved, The consent given by the House of Bishops to the election of Trustees for the Church Pension Fund is not intended to establish a precedent regarding to the process used to nominate candidates for election at the 78th General Convention.

Looking ahead to the 79th General Convention, the House requests the Standing Commission on Constitution and Canons to review the relevant canons and rules regarding the nomination and election of Church Pension Fund trustees. This is in order to clarify any confusion about this nomination/election process before work begins in the coming triennium.

The House of Bishops asks the Standing Commission on Constitution and Canons to consult with relevant stakeholders in the nomination/election process and report the results of its review to the Presiding Officers of both houses, the Board of Trustees of the Church Pension Fund, and the chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Nominations.
