The Rev. James Melvin Dix, rector of Fox Chapel, Pittsburgh, PA, died after a long battle with cancer on April 1. He was 61.

Fr. Dix was born in Beloit, WI. He attended Beloit College and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary. He was ordained priest in 1958. Fr. Dix served as curate of Holy Spirit, Lake Forest, IL, and as rector of St. Thomas', Oakmont, PA, until becoming rector of Fox Chapel in 1970. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, and their four children.
