The Ven. William John Morgan, archdeacon of the Diocese of West Virginia, died suddenly Aug. 13. He was 51.

Fr. Morgan was a native of Camden, NJ. He was a graduate of Gannon College and General Theological Seminary. At the time of his death, he was pursuing a doctoral degree at the School of Theology at the University of the South. He was ordained deacon andpriest in 1984. Fr. Morgan served as associate at St. Paul's, Mt. Lebanon, PA, 1984-87; and rector of All Saints', Rosedale/Verona, PA, 1987-91. From 1991 until his death, he was rector of Christ Church, Bluefield, WV. Fr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Joyce, and two children
