The Rev. Diane M. Edson, priest of the Diocese of Massachusetts, died Sept. 19 following a long illness. She was 52. A native of Washington, DC, she was graduated from the University of Maryland. She taught school in Cornwall, NY, and was a Christian education consultant and teacher at Virginia Theological Seminary. In 1984 she graduated from Episcopal Divinity School and was ordained deacon in the Diocese of Washington and later priest in Massachusetts. She was missioner in Hull, MA, and founder of St. Nicholas' Mission in 1984. She was priest-in-charge and later rector of St. Andrew's, Hanover, MA, from 1990 to 1997. She was a member of the standing committee in Massachusetts. She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Robert Edson, of Hingham, MA, two children, David, of New York City, and Sarah, of Brighton, and her parents, Herbert and Elizabeth Martin Fuchs. |
