Growing Ecumenical Concern over AIDS Produces Landmark Document

The Rev. Thaddeus Bennett, president of the National
Episcopal AIDS Coalition, presents check for $2,500 to Presiding
Bishop Edmond L. Browning during his visit to Atlanta where he was a
featured speaker at a national interfaith conference on AIDS. The
money was raised from two offerings at the October "Our Church Has
AIDS" conference in Cincinnati sponsored by NEAC, and was given to the
Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief for AIDS work in developing
countries. Also pictured (left to right) are the Rev. Canon George
Brandt, dead of St. Philip's Cathedral in Atlanta and president of the
Atlanta Interfaith AIDS Network, and the Rt. Rev. Douglas Theuner,
bishop of New Hampshire and chair of the Joint Commission on AIDS.
