1 & 2 In the Chapel of Christ the Lord in the Episcopal Church Center, a free-standing altar and a green Italian marble Celtic cross are framed by a brightly hued reredos tapestry. The 10 by 20 foot tapestry's theme is an abstract concept of four seraphim guarding the cross. The tapestry is of hand spun and hand dyed virgin wool. Alan Porter of New York designed and made the tapestry, assisted by two West German women. In the outside wall are six narrow windows designed and executed by Gabriel Loire of Chartres, France. They are made of faceted glass set in concrete. Their general theme is the Resurrection. The chapel walls are of marble, travertine and teak. The floor is Virginia greenstone with mosaic inserts.
