Funeral Services Held for the Rt. Rev. Efrain Salinas

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Funeral services for the Rt. Rev. Efrain Salinas y Velasco, retired Missionary Bishop of Mexico, were held on Monday, December 16 in the Episcopal Cathedral in Mexico City. The Rt. Rev. Jose G. Saucedo, Bishop of Mexico, officiated, assisted by his two Suffragan Bishops, the Rt. Rev. Romero R. Leonardo and the Rt. Rev. Melchor Saucedo.

The Rt. Rev. J. Brooke Mosley, of New York City, Deputy for Overseas Relations of the Episcopal Church, also participated.

Bishop Salinas, who died on December 15 at the age of 82 after a long illness, served as the Bishop of Mexico from 1934 to 1957. He was Suffragan Bishop from 1931 to 1934. He was a graduate of Nashotah House, Nashotah, Wis.

He was born at Cuernavaca, Mexico, on January 20, 1886.
