Mcleod Consecration to be Broadcast Live

A special live nationwide satellite-TV transmission from Burlington, Vermont, on November 1, 1993 will telecast the consecration of the Rev. Mary Adelia Mcleod as bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont, the first woman elected to serve as head of a diocese in the Episcopal Church in the United States. The satellite program can be seen or recorded by any at-home viewer or organization with satellite "dish" receiving equipment. The telecast will begin at 11 a.m. (Eastern time) and conclude with coverage of Bishop Mcleod's first news conference immediately following the service. To watch or record the telecast, viewers may select from either of the following frequencies:

  • Ku-Band: Galaxy K4, Transponder 9/Channel 9, Downlink Frequency: 11870 Mhz, Audio Channels: 6.2 and 6.8, Location: 99 degrees west longitude
  • C-Band Telstar 301, Transponder 2-vertical/Channel 3, Downlink Frequency: 3760 Mhz, Audio Channels: 6.2 and 6.8, Location: 96 degrees west longitude
