The Committee on Social and Urban Affairs presented its Report #68 on House of Bishops Message #176 relating to Resolution D106 (Staff Officer, Gay and Lesbian Ministries), informing the House that it had referred the Resolution to the Joint Commission on Health and Human Affairs.

The lay deputation from West Tennessee asked for Resolution D106 to be removed from the Consent Calendar.

Resolution removed from Consent Calendar

Deputy Crump of West Tennessee removed his objection to D106 and Deputy Christie of Newark requested that it be replaced on the Consent Calendar.

The Committee on the Dispatch of Business asked that Resolutions D105, D106 and A090 be removed from the Consent Calendar.

The Vice-President removed them.

Abstract:   The 69th General Convention refers the resolution on a staff officer for gay and lesbian ministries to an interim body.
Notes:  

The House of Deputies did not formally vote on the resolution to refer, but there being no objection to the legislative committee's recommendation, the consent of the House is implied as indicated in the Journal of Convention.
