Resolved, That this Convention direct the Standing Liturgical Commission to continue its study of theological aspects of committed relationships of same-sex couples, and to issue a full report including recommendations of future steps for the resolution of issues related to such committed relationships no later than November 1999 for consideration at the 73rd General Convention.

Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That the Standing Liturgical Commission, following their critical study of pertinent theological papers and rites used for blessing committed relationships of same-sex couples from faith communities, disseminate these rites to enable further conversation in the Church.
Bishop Doss (New Jersey) moved a substitute.

Resolved, that this Convention direct the Standing Liturgical Commission to continue its study of theological aspects of committed relationships of same-sex couples, and to issue a full report including recommendations of future steps for the resolutions of issues related to such committed relationships no later than November 1999 for consideration at the 73rd General Convention.
