Resolved, That the 72nd General Convention request the appropriate Interim Body, as determined by the Presiding Bishop and the President of the House of Deputies, appoint members to a working group representing a wide range of expertise and approaches to medicine, ethics and theology; to study the theological and ethical implication of end of life issues including, adequate palliative care, euthanasia, and assisted suicide; taking into consideration pertinent studies in the Christian moral perspective such as the Washington Report; previous resolutions of the General Convention; and recent Supreme Court decisions, and report to the 73rd General Convention.

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That this 72nd General Convention direct the Standing Commission on Health to accept for study and discussion the report of the Committee on Medical Ethics of the Diocese of Washington, Christian Moral Perspectives on Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia ("The Washington Report").
