Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That the 73rd General Convention of the Episcopal Church affirm the value of adoption and recognize it is in the best interest of the child to be adopted by a stable family with a mother and father to nurture him or her; and be it further
Resolved, That the General Convention of the Episcopal Church urge the U.S. Congress to pass legislation making adoption counseling available to women facing an unplanned pregnancy and to married couples seeking to adopt; and be it further
Resolved, That the General Convention of the Episcopal Church encourage its clergy to recommend adoption as an alternative to abortion when counseling parishioners facing an unplanned pregnancy.
