Resolved, That the Presiding Officers appoint a committee of no more than 5 members, including one of the Trustees elected at the 78th General Convention, to evaluate the relationship between the General Convention and the General Theological Seminary to determine whether this relationship is mutually beneficial at this point in the life of the Church; and be it further

Resolved, That the committee report to the 79th General Convention of The Episcopal Church with recommended action, including the possibility of ending this relationship.

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the 78th General Convention of The Episcopal Church call upon the Presiding Bishop and the President of the House of Deputies to appoint a task force to examine and evaluate the recent developments at the General Theological Seminary. These developments include changes made to the bylaws of the General Theological Seminary (GTS), changes in the composition of the faculty, and action all parties: Dean and President, faculty and Board of Trustees; and be it further

Resolved, That this task force examine the General Theological Seminary's report of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) findings; and be it further

Resolved, That this task force report to the Executive Council within twelve months concerning the relationship between the Seminary and the General Convention, in particular on issues on issues of accountability and transparency ;and make any recommendations deemed appropriate; and be it further

Resolved, That the Joint Standing Committee on Program, Budget and Finance consider a budget allocation of $5,000 for the implementation of this resolution.”
