Resolved, That this 64th General Convention of the Episcopal Church receive the study paper found in the 1973 report of the Joint Commission on the Church in Human Affairs (relating to Philosophy of Total Life Existence, Abortion, Euthanasia, and Related Issues)*, emphasizing the continuum of human life, its essential integrity and importance; accepting proper corporate responsibility for its support and protection; and taking individual responsibility, where necessary, for the decisions surrounding its creation, continuance, and maintenance; and be it further

Resolved, That this study paper be called to the attention of all members of the Church for information and study; and be it further

Resolved, That conversations be opened with official representatives of other religious bodies and denominations, with the object of securing unified study of, and, if possible, concurrence in, such a philosophy and providing a unified and ecumenical approach to both the theological and social issues facing us all; and be it further

Resolved, That the Joint Commission on Religion and Health be charged with the responsibility for opening these conversations.
