Title: Urge Church to Deepen Its Commitment to Alleviating Hunger

Final Text:

Resolved, That this 67th General Convention of the Episcopal Church in the U.S.A. urges all individuals, congregations and Dioceses to deepen their commitment to the alleviation of hunger and malnutrition by:

a) becoming familiar with local needs for food;

b) volunteering time, facilities, food, and money to meet those needs;

c) praying for greater awareness and sensitivity among all citizens to the problems of hunger and malnutrition;

d) joining forces with other individuals and organizations, within and outside of the Church, with similar commitments;

e) developing other means of aiding those most deeply affected by lack of food and other basic services; and

f) urging policy makers and the entire community to call for increased use of our national resources to meet basic human needs; and be it further

Resolved, That the National Hunger Committee and the Hunger Office work through its network to stimulate, facilitate and support such efforts, and to share experiences across the Church.
