Allin At St. Peter's Conway

Allin as Vicar in front of Old St. Peter’s Church, Conway, mid-1940s. Allin also served mission congregations in Eureka Springs, Harrison and Russellville.

Newly Ordained

Allin’s early years of service were a patchwork of parochial cures. His first pastoral assignment was as Vicar at St. Peter’s Episcopal Mission in Conway, Arkansas (1945-1949), where he also served mission congregations at St. James Church, Eureka Springs; St. John’s Church, Harrison; and All Saints' Church in Russellville. In the midst of these several assignments, he taught psychology at Arkansas State Teachers College. Education was an area of ministry in which Allin was greatly interested. Although his time in Arkansas was cut short, Allin would continue his work with students in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Congratulations from Bland Mitchell

Bishop Mitchell's birthday greeting announcing Allin's canonical eligibility for ordination to the priesthood. Being admitted to an exclusive, all-male order was a privileged position not lost on either Bland Mitchell or Jack Allin.
